Best Hospitals: U.S News Announces the List

Well the numbers are in: The 2013 edition of U.S. News and World Report has published a list of the best hospitals in the country. The rankings are based on specialty and focus less on routine care and more on the extraordinary cases that require more expertise and pose more of a challenge.

Just to be clear, making the list is already a big deal. Only 148 facilities in the country made the list at all. Only 17 in the country made the Honor Roll, where the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania ranked #15.

That being said, here is where Philadelphia area hospitals rank in the country:
