How to Prepare for Your DEXA Scan?

We ask that all patients leave their jewelry at home.

If you have recently had a test that required barium or a contrast injection:

• You must notify us and schedule your DEXA scan for at least 10 days after the contrast study.

If you are unsure about any part of this please contact your referring doctor or your primary care physician.
