Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday. We always try to accommodate patients’ schedules, however, certain studies can only be done at particular times, either because of human physiology or because a doctor needs to be present for the procedure. For these reasons different modalities have different schedules.
Do I need to schedule an appointment?
There is a chance that if you walk in you could get your procedure done on the spot. However, this depends not only on how busy the technologist is and what your procedure requires. If your procedure requires a precertification or fasting, we will have to schedule you for a different time.
Is there a fee for being late or no show?
All appointments not cancelled within 24 hours prior to the scheduled time are subject to a $50 fee. Please review our No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy.
Can I get my films?
Yes! If you are having a study and you would like to get your films or CD please let either registration or the technologist know before the test and you will have them within 10 minutes of the completion of your test.
If you are requesting films or a CD from a study you had before, please allow 1 business day before you come to pick them up. All films and CDs not picked up within two weeks will be shredded.
What is the difference between films and a CD?
Absolutely none, except format of course. It is up to your doctor which format, but the images are exactly the same. If you are unsure about what your doctor prefers, call the doctor’s office and ask.
How much are the films?
The first copy of your films and/or CD is always free. There is a fee for all the subsequent copies. $10 for a CD. $25 for films if the previous copy was never picked up and got shredded. $75 for films if a previous copy was given to the patient.
If you have to leave your films at your doctor’s office do not forget to pick them up. Most offices don’t keep the films, they will be destroyed in some time, and you will need to pay us for another copy.
Can you send the films and report to my house?
We can send your report to your house via regular mail. Due to HIPPA regulations we cannot email the report to you. We can fax the report to you if you send or fax us a written request for it.
All films and CDs have to be picked up in person and signed out. We can mail them to you, however, you will have to cover the shipping and handling fee which could be up to $25.
Will my doctor get my films?
The films are read by our radiologist and the written report from that reading is sent to your doctor. The radiology report (the result of your test) will be faxed to your doctor. We do not send films or CDs along with this report.
If your doctor requests that you get films or a CD, you will have to get them yourself and give them to your doctor.
When will my doctor get the report?
For most studies the turnaround is 2 business days or less. If your doctor requires a faster turnaround time they will mark your prescription or call in the request themselves.
What if I have an emergency?
We always do our best to accommodate emergency patients. However, our patients’ safety is our first priority and if we feel that you will be better served by going to the Emergency Room, we will tell you so.
Where do I park?
All of our departments have parking spaces in front of the main entrance. If you are having a sleep study, you must park in these spots marked “Patient Parking Only” or your vehicle will be towed.
If you are unsure about any part of this please feel free to call us at 215-464-3300, and we will be happy to answer any questions.
